Late on a December night in 2005 at our annual company Christmas Party, we moved the party from Al's house to the loft over his garage and threw together an impromptu jam session. We thought we sounded great but we weren't sure if it really was us or the drinks talking. We decided to get together again a few weeks later to see if we were on to something. We picked out a few tunes to try and found that it was much more than the drinks. We decided to make a go of it and immediately started thinking about a name for the band. It's hard to remember all of the ridiculous names that we came up with but we all liked "The LoftOvers"... a hybrid of the band's birthplace in Al's loft combined with the fact that we're each a bit "leftover" from the 70's, 80's and 90's! Now that we had a name, we had to start building a repertoire... not an easy task with a band whose members all have different tastes and influences. Fortunately, that diversity has become a strength that binds us and keeps us challenged and interested!
